For its first 13 years, the club was situated at the Bryn, just outside of Newtown, before moving to its current location in 1908. A notable moment in St Giles' history occurred in 1911 when the legendary golfer Harry Vardon, who was providing guidance to the Llandrindod Wells Golf Club, visited St Giles. Vardon lent his expert opinion on the proposed extension to the course, leaving a lasting mark on its design.
