Sundridge Park Golf Club: Where Tradition Meets Challenge
Welcome to Sundridge Park Golf Club, a members club boasting a picturesque parkland course with 36 holes, just a short distance from the vibrant City of London and easily accessible from the channel ports. Designed by the renowned Willie Park Jnr, with later touches by architect James Braid, the courses blend seamlessly into the stunning historic landscape of the Grade 1 Listed Sundridge Park Mansion.
Both courses offer a challenge that goes beyond their 6000+ yard lengths. Undulating terrain, tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and slick greens demand strategic play for low scoring. The River Kyd Brook / Quaggy adds an exciting element of "risk and reward" on many holes, making each one a unique challenge. Despite being so close to the city, the courses provide a haven of tranquillity and serenity.
The East Course, a former Open Championship pre-qualifying course, greets players with a par 71 challenge. Crossing the River Kyd Brook on several holes, this course impresses newcomers with its quality of design and excellent playing condition. The West Course, on the other hand, presents a breathtaking start with a challenging par 4 of 423 yards and offers players a truly testing and beautiful par 69 experience. With tree-lined fairways and glimpses of London's famous landmarks, the West Course leaves an indelible impression.
The club's historic setting also features a Grade 1 listed Mansion, and the clubhouse offers excellent amenities, including a bar, restaurant, and facilities for funerals and celebrations. For golf enthusiasts, the Pro Shop is equipped with services such as custom fitting and tuition, led by the club's professional, Stuart Dowsett. The practice facilities, including a driving range with five bays, a putting green, and a chipping area, allow players to fine-tune their skills.
Since its founding in 1901, Sundridge Park Golf Club has maintained its reputation as a top-notch destination for golfers, even hosting a prestigious 72-hole World Amateur Ranking Event annually and having been a qualifying venue for The Open Championship. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a visitor looking for an exceptional golfing experience, Sundridge Park awaits with a warm welcome.
